Watse Sybesma (born in 1989 in the Netherlands) is a Reykjavík based theoretical physicist who has a passion for sharing science with a broad audience. He is a frequent author of popularizing science articles and participated in a theatre tour through the Netherlands to explain science on stage. Together with illustrator Diego Cohen he has written a children’s book on black holes in his native language Dutch, titled Femke en het zwarte gat dat haar sok opvrat (e. Emmy and the black hole that stole her sock). He is currently working on a new children’s book about quantum physics and is also exploring less science related topics. When he is doing neither of the above, he enjoys cycling, hiking or lying in an Icelandic hot pot.
